Job Description

The Wappingers Central School District is seeking a highly qualified and collaborative educator for an immediate opening for an ENL teaching position, with an effective start date on or about March 1, 2025. This is a full-time, probationary, tenure-track position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide effective instruction in English language acquisition aligned with state and district standards.
• Utilize ENL content and strategies to support students' academic and linguistic growth.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers to implement co-teaching models and support students in inclusive classroom settings.
• Assess student progress using formal and informal methods to guide instruction.
• Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the needs of English language learners (ELLs).
• Foster a culturally responsive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes student engagement.

Job Qualifications

Only those candidates holding valid NYSED certification in ESOL/ENL will be considered.

Candidates must be prepared to provide additional documents to complete a candidate folder, including three letters of recommendation bearing the writers' signatures, dated within the last 18 months, valid teaching certificate, and transcripts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and best practices for teaching English language learners.
Experience in co-teaching and collaborative planning preferred.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to the academic and social success of all students
