Health Aide/Typist - 17.5 hours2023-01

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned. 

  1. Renders simple First Aid assistance in the absence of the Registered Professional Nurse.   
  2. Maintains various health records.  
  3. Types notices, records, reports, letters and similar materials.   
  4. Assists in giving hearing and vision screening tests.   
  5. Assists Registered Professional Nurse in following up on possible defects found in medical screening.   
  6. May call parents regarding student absenteeism.   
  7. Dispenses prescription medicines to self-directed students when necessary in strict accordance with New York State Education Law and regulations.  
  8. Talks to and attempts to calm students who are distressed.  
  9. May work one-on-one with handicapped students to assist with daily living needs (feeding and bathroom). 
  10. Operates copier, calculator, computer, or other office machines.   
  11. May assist in planning and setting up bulletin boards and other educational programs. 
  12. Does related work as required.      
     
$15.88/hr
