ENL Teacher - Probationary

The Wappingers Central School District is seeking a highly qualified and collaborative educator for an immediate opening for anENL teaching position, with an effective start date on or about December 10, 2024. This is a full-time, probationary, tenure-track position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective instruction in English language acquisition aligned with state and district standards.
  • Utilize ENL content and strategies to support students' academic and linguistic growth.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers to implement co-teaching models and support students in inclusive classroom settings.
  • Assess student progress using formal and informal methods to guide instruction.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the needs of English language learners (ELLs).
  • Foster a culturally responsive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes student engagement.
