Automotive Mechanic Nights

  1.      Performs skilled repairs on gasoline and diesel motor equipment including buses, automobiles, trucks and all District equipment.     

  2.      Runs computerized diagnostic tests on vehicles and compares results with specifications for vehicle make to determine servicing and repair needs.      

  3.      Performs and directs routine preventive maintenance servicing and inspections.      

  4.      Grinds valves and fits new bearings, pistons and rings.       

  5.      Assembles and times engines.      

  6.      Operates a utility repair truck in making field repairs.

  7.      Repairs or overhauls brake systems, differentials, transmissions, front and rear axles and clutches.

  8.      Adjusts steering mechanisms and aligns wheels.

  9.    Occasionally operates machine shop equipment, including grinders, drill presses and other metal working machines to make and repair parts for automotive           equipment.

10.      Makes estimates and prepares requisitions for materials.

11.      Inspects, repairs and replaces automotive electrical system components.

12.      Participates in snow and ice control activities.

13.      May perform body repair and body painting tasks.

14.      May drive heavy equipment or operate a school bus.

15.      Utilizes the Automated Fleet Management System

16.      May be required to drive a school bus.

17.      Does related work as required.

Substitute School Bus Monitor 2025-2026

1. Assists driver and disabled students in operation of lifts for wheelchairs.
2. Maintains good student conduct on the bus.
3. Secures special equipment that may accompany the student.
4. Is alert to any conditions in the loading and unloading area which present a danger to students.
5. Communicates in an appropriate fashion with students, parents, and District employees.
6. Does related work as required.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises students while transporting them.

Upon completion of the hiring process, including all mandatory paperwork, candidates for all substitute positions must receive WCSD Board approval as a WCSD substitute prior to starting assignment date.  

$15.50/hourly
Substitute School Bus Driver 2025-2026

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Drives a school bus safely and professionally.
  2. Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip inspections.
  3. Reports any mechanical defect to immediate superior.
  4. Checks and fills vehicle with fuel.
  5. Instructs or informs passengers about safety practices when entering and/or leaving bus.
  6. Maintains orderly conduct of passengers while on bus.
  7. May clean interior and exterior of assigned vehicle.
  8. May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicle.
  9. May be required to administer first aid to passengers injured on bus.
  10. May install and remove tire chains when necessary.
  11. Complies with all traffic ordinances.
  12. Complies with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for Transportation.
  13. Participates in on-site training.
  14. Shows proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus.

May also be required to:

  1. Dust chairs, tables, desks, and other furniture.
  2. Wash windows, walls, woodwork, bathrooms, tubs, and bowls.
  3. Gather and dispose of refuse.
  4. Clean and polish furniture.
  5. Sweep, mop, and wash floors, clean blackboards and erasers, and perform other cleaning duties.
  6. Perform maintenance on automotive vehicle and/or buildings and grounds.
  7. Perform simple clerical tasks such as filing, sorting and/or printing of various material.
